Aeroflex Aerocoat Plastic Paint Black 946 ml
Aerocoat is a water-based pure acrylic emulsion paint made by Aeroflex for their EPDM closed-cell insulation. It shields exposed foam from ultraviolet light and weathering, which is what otherwise breaks elastomeric insulation down within a few seasons outdoors.
It stretches more than 400% and bonds with an adhesion promoter, so it will not crack or peel when the insulation is squeezed or compressed. Fungus resistant, and no primer is required.
This is the 946 ml can (1/4 US gallon) in black — the colour that matches the natural finish of Aeroflex EPDM, so the coating disappears into the installation rather than announcing itself. The small can suits fitting covers, valves, joints, short exposed sections and making good after the main run is coated. At approximately 10 m² per litre per coat it covers around 9.5 m² in one coat, or roughly 4.7 m² at the recommended two.
Thin 5–10% with clean water, stir thoroughly, apply to a clean surface free of oil, grease and chalking. Cleans up with water. Read the Safety Data Sheet before use.
